MGK reveals hilarious Super Bowl chat with Taylor Swift as Chiefs lost to Eagles

Machine Gun Kelly has shared a light-hearted behind-the-scenes moment from Super Bowl LIX involving Taylor Swift, and it happened while her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs were losing the game.

Appearing on ABC News Live, the pop-punk star, whose real name is Colson Baker, recalled how he went into the night expecting a 'legendary' Chiefs victory. But the Philadelphia Eagles had other plans, leaving Swift and her friends in no mood to party.

“I was in Travis’ suite, and at the beginning Taylor was like, ‘Hell yeah we’re gonna come watch you perform, it’s gonna be crazy tonight,’” MGK, 35, told host Linsey Davis. “By the third quarter, dude, I was looking at that score, I went up to Taylor and said, ‘Y’all aren’t coming tonight, huh?’”

According to MGK, Swift’s response was honest but kind: “She was like, ‘I don’t think so, man. I’ll see if I can get him to get out, but I don’t think [so].’”

The cliché singer also reflected on his bond with Kelce, 35, noting their shared Ohio roots. “That’s my dawg. He’s from Cleveland, right next to where I’m from,” MGK said.

The star-studded suite that night included Swift’s close friends Alana, Este and Danielle Haim, stylist Ashley Avignone, and Kelce’s parents, Ed and Donna Kelce, alongside MGK himself.

This isn’t the first time MGK has spoken fondly of the Grammy-winning singer and the NFL tight end. Back in April, during an episode of Hot Ones Versus with rapper Trippie Redd, the musician was quizzed about the celebrity couple while tackling increasingly spicy chicken wings.

At one point, Redd referenced MGK’s playful offer of $1 million — half in cash and half as donations to the pair’s high schools — if Kelce ever left the Chiefs to join the Cleveland Browns.

Redd then challenged him to “burn that bridge by saying three mean things about Taylor Swift.”

MGK’s reply was instant and emphatic. “Ladies and gentlemen, you have got to be out of your motherf---ing mind if you think I want any smoke with that fanbase,” he said, looking straight into the camera, a nod to Swift’s famously passionate fans, the Swifties.

He followed up with nothing but praise: “Taylor is a saint and very nice to me, and Travis is my bro.”

The trio’s friendship dates back at least to the Chiefs’ 2024 Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers, when MGK and then-girlfriend Megan Fox joined Swift and Kelce for an afterparty at Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas.
