What if Pakistan got its own version of Lock Upp? Social media users have already done the casting, picked their dream contestants and practically planned the drama before the show even exists. From Rajab Butt and Jannat Mirza to Alizeh Shah, Mishi Khan and Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, fans have imagined a lineup that could bring plenty of drama and entertainment under one roof.
The fun started after an Instagram post asked users to imagine the perfect contestants for a Pakistani version of Lock Upp. The suggested list included Rajab Butt, Jannat Mirza, Sehar Khan, Imran Abbas, Ahmed Ali Butt, Umer Butt, Alizeh Shah, Romaisa Khan, Aon Sheikh, Mishi Khan, Mathira and Rubi Malik.
And naturally, Rajab Butt quickly became one of the biggest talking points in the comments. Several users tagged him or simply repeated his name, while others jokingly suggested that he should not even be a contestant and should instead take over as the host.
One commenter reacted to the imaginary cast by writing, “Rating phaaaar show ,” while another suggested that the idea would be incredibly entertaining. Someone else joked that putting all these personalities under one roof could result in nothing less than “World War 3.”
But fans were not done with the casting. Dr Nabiha repeatedly appeared in the comments, with several users asking why she had been left out. Haris Khokhar, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan and Fiza Ali were also suggested as potential additions, apparently because the original list was not chaotic enough.
The comments then took an even funnier turn when fans began assigning Pakistani personalities to characters and archetypes from Indian reality television. One elaborate fan-made list matched Rajab Butt, Sehar Khan, Imran Abbas, Ahmed Ali Butt, Jannat Mirza, Umer Butt, Alizeh Shah, Romaisa Khan, Mishi Khan, Aon Sheikh, Mathira, Rubi Malik and Iqra Kanwal with different reality-show personalities.
Fans also noticed that Kanwal Aftab was missing from the proposed lineup. One commenter pointed out that a Kanwal and Jannat Mirza face-off could take the drama to another level. Chahat Fateh Ali Khan was also repeatedly requested, with users clearly believing that the hypothetical house still needed a little more entertainment.
Not everyone was impressed, though. Some users joked that such a show could never actually happen. One commenter, however, admitted that the idea was still good.
The imaginary casting even came with predictions about the finale. One user boldly predicted that Mishi Khan and Alizeh Shah would make it to the top two, while others focused more on the chaos that could unfold long before anyone reached the finale.
