PCB chairman says hopeful event will be held in Pakistan
Stating categorically that he wanted Pakistan and the game of cricket to win, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Sunday he was looking forward to hearing good news about the Champions Trophy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he said that the PCB was ready to host the event. “All preparations are complete in this regard,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister praised Naqvi’s principled stance on the tournament, which, he said, reflected the wishes of each and every Pakistani.
He also showed his complete trust in the Board chairman. “You have represented the 240 million Pakistanis at the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting,” the PM said, and added, “The country’s honour and prestige must be our top priority.”
