Admitting that holding rallies was part of a political culture, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday offered to the PTI making arrangements for its rally in case the party promised that it’s workers would remain peaceful, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“If public gatherings are held peacefully then we will have no objection,” he added.

The minister was of the view that whenever the country was put on the path to progress, a ‘gang of troublemakers raised its head. “PTI does the politics of hate and division,” he opined.

He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur had said that 99 per cent of the PTI issues had been resolved. “If that is the case, then there is no point in holding protest demonstrations.”

Asif went on to say it was said that when Donald Trump would become the US president, former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan would be released from jail. “However, there has been no development on this front so far.”

He opined that the PTI wanted to create obstacles in the way of holding the Champions Trophy.

“Benazir Bhutto had been ousted from power; Nawaz Sharif was also shown the door thrice. But not once did the PPP or the PML-N spread chaos in the society,” he said, adding, “PTI should review its confrontational politics and should do politics in the national interests.”
