ASA QAU welcomes appointment of Dr Niaz as HEC Chairman 

Academic Staff Association QAU welcomes the appointment of Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar as the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for a period of two years, following the official notification issued by the Ministry of Education and Professional Training on Friday. 
ASA QAU congratulates Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar on assuming this important national responsibility and expresses hope that his extensive academic and administrative experience will contribute to restoring stability, transparency, and confidence in the higher education system. 
As far as the future of QAU is concerned,  ASA hopes that administrative responsibility of the institution will be handed over to one of the senior professors of the institute as they are aware of the administrative issues and cultural climate of QAU. An outsider won't be in a position to take urgent administrative decisions and the challenges faced by the institution need top-priority actions. 
ASA QAU hopes that as Prof. Dr Niaz is well aware of  the financial challenges faced by QAU, he will facilitate the productive resolution of the issues in his capacity as the Chairman of HEC. ASA QAU looks forward to continuing a effective and fruitful association with Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and the HEC leadership. ASA QAU remains committed to working collectively for the welfare of the academic community in Pakistan.
