CM Maryam pays tribute to Lahorites for following Basant safety SOPs

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to the people of Lahore for ensuring the implementation of safety SOPs on the occasion of Basant, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

In a statement, Maryam Nawaz said “I am happy that the people of Lahore have kept our trust”. 

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said Lahore is very happy today and I am also very happy. 

Alhamdulillah, the people of Lahore played an important role in celebrating a safe Basant by following the rules and regulations, Maryam Nawaz said.

She said the concept of a happy but safe Basant was fully adopted.

The people cooked and eat delicious food while the kites kept fluttering in the wind, this is the happiness, Maryam Nawaz said.

She said there were no reports of using prohibited strings other than the prescribed size and the prescribed length. 

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said a safe Basant was celebrated on the roofs as per the SOPs.

Transformers were also safe due to the non-use of metal wires throughout Lahore, Maryam Nawaz said.

By the grace of Allah Almighty, the early steps on the roofs proved to be effective, Maryam Nawaz added.

The concept of Safe Basant will be adopted in other cities after Lahore, Maryam Nawaz announced.

She said as many as 200 clinics on wheel and 21 field hospitals were also set up in every area including Liberty and Walled City. 

Today is the last day of Basant festival and people should not leave the fold of caution, she said.
