Two youth die, five injured in Basant-related incidents in Lahore

Two young men died and five others got injured in Basant-related incidents in Lahore on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.  

In first incident, 16-year-old youth died after falling from a roof while flying kite in Bilalganj area of Lower Mall in Lahore on Sunday.

Edhi spokesperson confirmed that a young man fell from a roof while flying a kite and was shifted to the hospital in a critical condition, but succumbed to injuries.

The victim was identified as Abdullah who was visiting Lahore from Sialkot to celebrate Basant. After medico-legal procedure the dead body was shifted to mortuary. 

In a second tragic accident, a journalist Zain Malik fell from rooftop while flying kite in Sanda area of Lahore on Sunday night. He was shifted to Munshi Hospital for treatment and died in the hospital. Zain Malik was working as a sport reporter in a local news channel. 

Meanwhile, five people were injured in various incidents during Basant celebrations in Lahore on Sunday.

According to police, 25-year-old Imtiaz Ali fell from a roof while flying a kite in Sector B-1, Township. The injured youth was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment, his condition is out of danger.

13-year-old Mahmood fell from the roof of his house while flying a kite in Awan Town. The injured child was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.

Citizen injured after falling from roof while flying kite in Pindi Stop, Liaquatabad. 32-year-old Moon Masih broke one of his legs, shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.

Man who was forbidding children from flying kites in Green Town, Bagrdian, fell from roof himself. 56-year-old Iqbal was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment. Kamran, 50, a resident of Johar Town, G Block, was injured while displaying fireworks, police said. The victim sustained injuries in one of his hands and was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment, police said.
