He narrated: “There is a culture in Pakistan that you start playing cricket with tape ball. I used to play street cricket. I continued to play cricket till I eventually started playing professionally with a tape ball. I went for Lahore Qalandars trials in 2017. The gate was closed as I reached late since I had to travel all the way from Rawalpindi to Lahore. I was with my three friends so I asked them to scout the area for entrance gate. We eventually located a gate, and we entered the stadium. I cleared all the rounds an then there was a final round where I had such a high pace and bowled three times during trials. Each ball had a higher speed than the last one which led to my selection for the Lahore Qalandars.”
