Traffic Police personnel set fire to Qingqi rickshaw in Mardan 

Drivers of Qingqi rickshaws in Mardan blocked the road in front of the DHQ Hospital when some traffic police personnel sprinkled petrol on one of the rickshaws before setting it on fire, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. 

The personnel later fled from the spot.

The protestors said that the traffic police challaned them without any rhyme and reason.  

Taking notice of the protest, the DPO suspended two personnel besides ordering an impartial inquiry into the incident. 

On the other hand, the spokesman for the traffic police said that the incident took place after a rickshaw driver had an altercation with a traffic police officer. “An FIR has been lodged against the officer, Waqar Ahmad, and constable Shahzad on the basis of testimonies given by the eyewitnesses.” 

The SP Traffic Mardan also made it clear that those guilty would not be spared.
