Pakistan, Bangladesh discuss bilateral ties, regional situation

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held talks with Bangladeshi Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain, focusing on bilateral relations and the evolving regional situation, the Foreign Office said on Tuesday.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi stated that the two leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Regional developments and challenges were also part of the discussions.

During the meeting, both sides appreciated the timely convening of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the OIC foreign ministers’ meeting is scheduled to be held in Jeddah on January 10.

The leaders underscored the importance of continued diplomatic engagement and coordination on regional and international issues, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and cooperation within multilateral forums.
