Actress Humaira Asghar's decomposed body found in her apartment

The body of actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali was discovered in an apartment in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority on Tuesday, police have confirmed.

According to South DIG Syed Asad Raza, Ali’s remains were found in a flat located in Ittehad Commercial, Phase VI. Gizri police, in a statement, identified the deceased as the 32-year-old actor and stated that she had likely passed away approximately two weeks before her body was recovered.

DIG Raza explained that police were acting on a local court’s order to vacate the apartment. Officers arrived at the scene around 3:15 p.m., and when repeated knocks went unanswered, they forced entry by breaking the lock—at which point the body was discovered. The Crime Scene Unit was called in to collect forensic evidence.

Ali had been living in the apartment as a tenant.

“The condition of the body suggests it had been there for several days,” DIG Raza said, noting that the cause of death could not be determined during the preliminary investigation. The body was transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal and medical examination.

Dr. Summaiya Syed, Police Surgeon at the hospital, confirmed the arrival of the body. “It is in an advanced stage of decomposition,” she stated. An investigation into the circumstances of her death is ongoing.

Humaira Asghar Ali had appeared in the ARY reality show Tamasha Ghar and the 2015 film Jalaibee.
