Arrested accused shot dead in encounter with Lahore police

An under-custody accused lost his life when his colleagues opened fire on the police party in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to the details, a team of the Crime Control Department (CCD) Model Town was taking the accused for recovery.
After receiving a secret report about the CCD team's movement, some colleagues of the accused began firing at the police on their way in an attempt to free him from custody.
During heavy exchange of fire, the accused received serious bullet wounds and was killed by the firing of his colleagues. The dead accused was later identified as Mohammad Khalid.
Later, all the colleagues of the accused escaped from the scene after taking advantage of the darkness.
