CM Maryam directs depts to remain alert after rains

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), local government, Rescue 1122, and traffic police to remain on high alert during the current rainy season across Punjab including Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

She directed the relevant officials of WASA, local government, Rescue 1122, and traffic police to ensure their presence in the field to supervise the rescue operations personally.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed all commissioners and deputy commissioners to monitor the drainage of rainwater from rural areas. 

She sought a comprehensive plan from the traffic police for alternative routes to facilitate the public during the rainy season.

Maryam Nawaz said that swift action should be taken to provide relief to the people from rainwater.
