Rejecting police’s request for the physical remand of female PTI workers in May 9 violence case, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Thursday sent them to jail on a 14-day judicial remand instead, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During hearing of the case, police told the judge that it had to recover sticks from the ladies; therefore, it wanted their physical remand.

However, the workers, including fashion designer Khadija Shah, Sanam Javed and Tayyaba Raja, denied they had sticks with them.

Counsels for these prisoners requested the court not to grant to police their clients’ physical remand.

The investigation officer told the court that all 13 females had been identified in the identification parade.  

On the last hearing, the court had granted to police five-day physical remand of these female PTI workers.

 

The 13 women including Khadija Shah, involved in the Jinnah House attack on May 9 last, have been produced before the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore after completion of their five-day physical remand.

The PTI women kept making victory sign while coming out of the jail van.

The police had earlier obtained their physical remand for investigation and photogrammetric test.

ATC Admin Judge Abhar Gul Khan conducted the hearing.

All 13 women have been identified in the identification parade, according to the investigation officer.

On the previous hearing, the court had approved five-day physical remand of the women.

The court had ordered to keep the women in police custody during the day and in jail at night.

Khadija Shah, Maryam Mazari, Aliya Hamza Malik, Sabuhi Inam, Taiba Raja, Sanam Javed, Huma Saeed, Mumtaz Bibi, Khalat Aziz, Iram Akmal, Ayesha Masood, Maha Masood and Khadija Nadeem are among the women who have been produced before the court.
