Eid festivities turn tragic as four accidents claim 11 lives
During the Eid holidays, road accidents across various parts of the country turned festive joy into sorrow as at least 11 people, including women and children, lost their lives, and over 19 others sustained injuries.
Four of the injured are reported to be in critical condition, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
Car plunges into ravine in DI Khan, 4 dead
In Dera Ismail Khan, a speeding car plunged into a ravine in the Darazinda area, killing four people and injuring two. Among the deceased were two brothers and a seven-year-old child. The injured were transported to Darazinda Hospital for medical treatment.
Truck overturns on motorway near Ghotki, 3 dead
In another tragic accident in Ghotki, a Mazda truck carrying livestock overturned on the M5 Motorway, resulting in three fatalities and five injuries. The deceased were identified as Mazhar Zulfiqar and Bilal. Rescue officials stated that the accident occurred due to the driver falling asleep. The injured were referred from Ghotki to Rahim Yar Khan for further care.
Truck hits rickshaw in Khairpur, 2 dead
Khairpur witnessed grief during Eid celebrations when a motorcycle rickshaw en route to the Sachal Sarmast shrine collided with a truck. Two individuals, Shaman and Altaf, were killed, while twelve others were injured. Four of the injured remain in critical condition. The truck driver fled the scene with his vehicle.
Bus turns turtle in Layyah; 2 dead
In Layyah, a passenger bus overturned on the Choubara-Fatehpur Road, resulting in two immediate deaths and several injuries. The deceased included the bus driver and a female passenger. All passengers were reportedly from the city of Karor Lal Esan.
