Rebel Wilson sparks excitement with update on ‘Pitch Perfect 4’

Rebel Wilson has reignited hopes for a fourth instalment of the beloved Pitch Perfect franchise, teasing fans with fresh remarks about the project’s development.

Speaking to The Guardian, the 45-year-old actress revealed, “We hear rumours all the time. I know Universal is developing some scripts.” Wilson, who portrayed the unforgettable Fat Amy in the musical comedy series, acknowledged the persistent buzz among fans and the ever-expanding audience discovering the films.

“The fanbase for Pitch Perfect is so awesome and keeps growing as younger people are introduced to it. So, hopefully – there’s a huge desire for another movie,” she added, hinting that the aca-hype is far from over.

Wilson’s comments follow her previous revelation last year, when she shared that producers at Universal Pictures were already working on a script for Pitch Perfect 4. “I would love to do a Pitch Perfect 4, and I believe there is a script in development for it,” she said at the time.

She’s not alone in her enthusiasm. Co-star Anna Kendrick, who played Beca in the trilogy, has also expressed her readiness to return, telling People, “Oh, my God, I know I would love [a sequel]. I feel like Rebel is really like the steam engine of everything. So as long as she keeps saying it might happen, I’ll believe it.”

The last Pitch Perfect film hit cinemas in 2017, but with the fan demand stronger than ever and scripts reportedly brewing, the Barden Bellas may be tuning up for one more unforgettable performance.
