British High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Christian Turner has issued a beautiful message on occasion of the International Women’s Day.

In the message shared through his twitter handle on Sunday, Dr Turner said he’s lucky to have incredible women in his life including his mother, wife and daughter.

“There’s no prosperous future in Pakistan without giving women a voice and a choice.”

In his resolution in relation to the Day, he said:

“I will work to ensure that more women in Pakistan are heard and have a voice in decision-making; work to get more girls into schools - and support financial inclusion of women through DFID and British Council programmes; and I will not appear on all-male panels.”

About the women working in the British Council, he said he was proud of their enthusiasm, commitment and resilience.

Dr Turner was appointed High Commissioner in succession to Thomas Drew in August 2019 and he took charge of his office in December.
