CM Bugti abolishes Balochistan’s Zakat department

Rs300 million Zakat funds were distributed annually among poor at cost of R1.6 billion

CM Bugti abolishes Balochistan’s Zakat department

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, while expressing anger over poor performance of Zakat Department, has announced to abolish the provincial Zakat Department, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

Balochistan Chief Minister was told that Rs 300 million is distributed among the poor in Balochistan annually in the form of Zakat department but unluckily the department spends Rs 1.6 billion on distributing Rs 300 million. 

Moreover, Zakat Department has 80 vehicles to distribute Rs 300 million among the poor. 

CM Balochistan further said Zakat money has not been distributed among the poor for the last 2 years. Chief Minister Balochistan announced that this department was being abolished due to poor performance and Rs 300 million zakat will be distributed among the poor through Deputy Commissioners.
