More rains predicted for country from March 9 to March 16
The Met Office on Saturday forecast more rains for different parts of the country from March 9 to March 16, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In its prediction, the weather department said that rain-producing westerly winds would enter the country on March 9 and the system would gain in intensity by March 12.
Under the impact of this system, the department said, showers were expected in different areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan between March 9 and March 16.
Giving further details, it said that on March 10, rains, accompanied by strong winds, were likely to pound Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Haripur, Kurram, Bannu, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Karak, Hangu, Kohat and Khyber.
The department informed that rains, accompanied by strong gales, were expected to lash Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Khushab and Gujrat from March 12 evening or night to March 16.
Showers and strong winds were also likely to buffet Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali and Dera Ismael Khan, it said, adding that it might rain cats and dogs at a few places.
The department also forecast showers for different parts of southern Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh on March 14 and March 15.
