Sindh Health Dept declares Qaim Ali Shah's living son dead

In a surprising development, the Sindh Health Department has declared Dr. Syed Liaquat Ali Shah, the son of former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, as deceased despite the fact that he is currently serving as a medical superintendent (MS) on contract at a government ophthalmology hospital.

The confusion arose during a court submission regarding the recruitment case of an employee named Tariq Chhajro. In a report submitted by the health secretary, health director general, and additional health secretary, it was stated that Dr. Liaquat Ali Shah had issued the recruitment order and was now deceased.

The report has left officials within the Sindh Health Department puzzled, and many are now unwilling to comment on the situation.

Dr. Liaquat Ali Shah has been actively serving as MS at the eye hospital for the past two years. Earlier, he worked as a contract professor at a medical college after his retirement.

In the past, Dr. Liaquat had served as a district health officer (DHO) and oversaw the recruitment of over 400 employees a decade ago. Of these, 161 employees are still receiving salaries, while the remaining cases are tied up in court.

When contacted for a statement, Dr. Liaquat Ali Shah declined to comment on the claims about his death. He noted that he had not received any official communication from the health secretary and would only provide a written response once he had done so.
