Further, the actress highlighted struggles of everyday life pointing out that people are already paying for basic necessities that should be easily accessible.
“Those who save Rs10 or Rs50 daily, what will they do now? Suddenly increasing petrol by Rs 55 will severely affect riders and daily commuters. How will they afford fuel?” she added.
Moreover, Saud claimed that even some petrol pumps were taking advantage of price hike, suggesting that such actions forced people to purchase fuel at higher prices.
Her comments have sparked an online discussion on social media, where many users echoed similar concern.
Recently, the prices of petrol per litre increased from 270 rupees to 322 rupees following a rise of Rs55, which government says came as the aftermath on ongoing Iran & Israel war.
The petroleum price hike is received severe public backlash, and celebrities are also condemning it, saying that a sudden increase of around 55 rupees places major burden on low income citizens who are barely earning their daily bread and butter.
