OGDCL sets daily gas production target at 865 mcf to meet country’s energy needs

The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is playing an important role for the development of the oil and gas sector and making Pakistan a self-sufficient country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday

At a time when the entire world is grappling with the energy crisis owing to a war in the Gulf, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), with five per cent increase, has set the daily production target of gas at 865 million cubic feet (mcf).

The OGDCL is looking for alternatives to deal with the crisis and to meet the energy needs of the country.

Experts have said that developing natural resources through local petroleum companies was a positive strategic step.

According to Muhammad Arif, an expert in the energy sector, increasing dependence on local oil companies in the current crisis will help reduce oil and gas imports.

He has said that exploration of oil and gas reserves in the country by these companies is a positive development.
