An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad rejected the bail plea filed by Faisal Shaheen – the approver in the Arshad Malik video scandal case, 24NewsHD reported on Friday.
The decision was announced by ATC Judge Raja Jawad Abbas who had earlier reserved the judgement on the application filed by Faisal after hearing the matter.
The accused is currently in the Adiala jail of Rawalpindi, as the FIA prosecutor had argued during the hearing that he must remain in the prison because of the threats he was facing.
Although it was reported that the PML-N had multiple videos of Arshad Malik – the former accountability court judge who sentenced Nawaz Sharif, none of these were ever released since then.
Maryam Nawaz had told the FIA that the video was original and neither edited nor tempered or doctored in any way.
But she added, “The video of Arshad Malik shown during the presser was not recorded by me or at my behest; rather it was recorded by Nasir Butt on his own initiative.”
