10 Karachi cops suspended for corruption

During the ongoing crackdown against corruption, Karachi Police Chief Amir Shaikh suspended ten policemen for their involvement in corruption, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Friday.

The suspended policemen were deputed to Kemari, Korangi, and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU).

City 21 obtained a copy of the notification according to which seven policemen were suspended during the first phase.

The suspended policemen include Sub-Inspector Talib, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Tariq Aziz, Assistant Sub-Inspector Azizur Rehman, Gul Faraz, Amir Sohail, Faisal Butt, and Mohammad Akram.

In the second phase, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi suspended Sub-Inspector Mohammad Khan and also demoted him from his designation.

In the third phase, two Sub-Inspectors of the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) were suspended. The suspended cops include Sub-Inspector Arshad and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mohammad Khan Jadoon.

All the policemen were suspended due to their involvement in corruption.
