More than 500,000 students failed in 2025 matric exams across Pakistan

A report of the Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen revealed that in academic session 2025, more than 500,000 students failed in matriculation exams across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to report, Punjab had the highest number of students failed. The number of students who failed in the province has exceeded 358,000.

As many as 87,419 students in Lahore Board declared failed in matriculation exams while 80,558 students out of 444,000 candidates failed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

About 51,000 students out of 450,000 candidates failed in Sindh while 9,797 students out of 78,839 students failed in Quetta Board.

As many as 15,798 students out of 137,000 candidates failed in Federal Board.

Education experts termed the results as a reflection of serious shortcomings in teaching quality and preparation.

The said immediate reforms should be made in the curriculum and teacher training.
