Former prime minister and PPP senior leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf strongly condemned Pakistan Electronic Media Authority’s (Pemra) decision to suspend the broadcast license of 24NewsHD TV.

Raja Pervaiz Ashraf demanded immediate restoration of the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP) chief Akhter said: “You cannot put a stop to a voice by shutting down a channel. This does not happen in democracy.”

While, Qaumi Watan Party chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said the government has reverted from its own words to defend freedom of expression with shutting down 24NewsHD TV channel.
