Donald Bloom calls on Dr Gohar Ejaz to discuss Pak-US trade ties

The US Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Bloom Thursday called on the caretaker Federal Minister for Industries & Production Division Dr Gohar Ejaz and discussed ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Dr Ejaz informed the ambassador about the details of the establishment of a Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) by the government of Pakistan to attract foreign investment in various sectors, such as mining, minerals, agriculture, information technology and energy.
The federal minister invited American companies to explore the potential opportunities in these sectors and assured them of the government's support and facilitation.
Dr Ejaz Gohar also briefed the ambassador about the government's economic recovery plan and its efforts to improve the business environment and ease of doing business in Pakistan.
The US ambassador appreciated the initiatives taken by the government and expressed his willingness to work with Pakistan to promote trade and investment cooperation.
Donald Bloom also discussed the possibilities of increasing exports of Pakistani products to the US market, especially in the areas of textiles, value-added food products, fresh mangoes, dates, soybeans and beef.
