Iqra Kanwal seeks time from court in gambling app promotion case
The National Cyber Crime Agency (NCCA) has summoned YouTube star Iqra Kanwal on an inquiry into the promotion of gambling apps online; however, the lady, through her legal team, requested additional time to appear before the court due to her pregnancy.
The NCCA has already arrested another YouTuber, Saad Ur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, in the case.
Iqra, Rajab Butt, and other social media influencers were summoned to appear on September 9.
In compliance with this order, Iqra has submitted a written answer to the court through her counsel, Barrister Mian Ashfaq Ali.
In the statement, she asserted that she is pregnant and the delivery is due soon. So at this time, she can't show up because the doctor advised a two-month rest.
The written answer also affirmed that she is ready to cooperate with the court and provide all necessary information, but her condition prevents her from making a physical appearance before the court.
The barrister confirmed the submission of the response in court. “Our law firm will represent Iqra Kanwal. The reply was prepared on September 2 and submitted later in line with our legal strategy,” he said.
