UAE Naval Chief meets Gen Sahir Shamshad, stresses maritime security cooperation
The Commander of the United Arab Emirates Naval Forces, Major General Humaid Mohammed Abdulla Alremeithi, called on General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi during an official visit to Pakistan on Monday, 24NewsHD TV reported.
The two dignitaries held in-depth discussions on professional matters, reviewing the evolving global and regional geo-strategic environment. Both sides emphasized the vital role of bilateral defence and security cooperation, including in the maritime domain, for regional peace and stability.
Major General Alremeithi expressed his appreciation for the high professional standards of the Pakistan Armed Forces, acknowledging their significant achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, and their continued efforts to promote peace in the region.
Earlier, upon arrival at Joint Staff Headquarters, a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent presented Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary.
