Hassan Nawaz and Husain Talat reflect on match-winning partnership

Pakistan's emerging star Hassan Nawaz expressed pride after being named player of the match on his debut during the first ODI against the West Indies, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.  

In a post-match interview following a rain-interrupted game, Hassan Nawaz, along with Husain Talat, said that he had decided before the game to make his debut match memorable and was glad he succeeded.

Hassan Nawaz, who made an immediate impact in his first appearance, added, "I’m proud to have been named player of the match in my debut.

Hasan noted that the rain had made conditions tricky, with the ball gripping on the surface, making it difficult early on.

He also highlighted his crucial partnership with Hussain Talat.

“Because of the rain, the ball was gripping, so I took some time. Hussain Talat and I planned that if we batted till the end, we could finish the match comfortably.

The plan was to build a partnership because both of us can hit big shots,” Hasan said.

Meanwhile, Husain Talat, who made a strong return after a tough phase, admitted that comebacks are never easy. "A comeback is never simple, but we’ve worked hard behind the scenes to get here," he said.

Talat, who faced immense pressure to perform, added, "There was a lot of pressure on me, but I had to make this comeback count. The conditions were tough, but playing alongside Hassan helped a lot."
