Huma Qureshi’s cousin stabbed to death in Delhi over parking dispute
Bollywood actors Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem are mourning the loss of their elder cousin, Asif Qureshi, who was fatally stabbed in Delhi on Thursday night following a parking dispute.
According to Indian media reports, the 42-year-old businessman, who ran a chicken business in the city, was attacked with a sharp 'poker-type' weapon in the Nizamuddin area at around 10 pm.
The altercation began when Asif asked two teenagers not to park their two-wheeler in front of the main entrance to his home.
Witnesses say the disagreement escalated.
One of the accused allegedly abused and threatened Asif before returning minutes later with his brother.
The two then attacked him, inflicting a severe chest injury.
Shaheen, one of Asif’s two wives, recounted the horrifying incident, saying: “My husband requested them to move the vehicle away."
She added, "The man abused him and threatened to come back. Within minutes, the man, along with his brother, came and stabbed Asif with a sharp weapon.”
Asif was rushed to the National Heart Institute in East of Kailash, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The Delhi police have identified the accused as Ujjwal and Gautam, both residents of the same neighbourhood.
They have been arrested and the murder weapon seized.
The shocking incident has sparked outrage in the community, with neighbours calling for stricter action against violent disputes over trivial matters.
