Youth murdered by in-laws over arranged marriage in Karachi
A young man was murdered in Karachi’s Machhar Colony under mysterious circumstances after arranged marriage, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Ahmed. The widow of the accused claimed that her husband Ahmed was allegedly tortured to death by her father and uncle. She claimed that her family was not happy with their marriage. The widow further said that, “There were marks of violence all over my husband’s body,” she adding, “If justice is not served, I will commit suicide.”
She further alleged that her husband was killed in front of her and that her uncle kicked her in the stomach. The parents of the deceased Ahmed stated that their only son was brutally tortured for three hours and shot seven times. “He was my only son,” they said.
A neighbor described Ahmed as “a very good and noble boy” who kept his wife happy whenever her family appeared to accept the marriage. They appealed for justice, stressing that Ahmed’s parents are very poor and deserve support.
