Robbers loot rescue vehicle in Chhanga Manga forest

Five alleged robbers looted a rescue vehicle in the Chhanga Manga forest, taking Rs20,000 in cash and important documents before fleeing into the wooded area, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

Anjum Ali, who filed the complaint at the police station, said he and others were returning after dropping a patient at General Hospital Lahore when the suspects targeted their vehicle.

He appealed to the Punjab Inspector General of Police, the Regional Police Officer of the Sheikhupura Region, and the District Police Officer of Kasur to take notice of the incident, arrest the suspects, and recover the stolen property.

The incident comes only days after another robbery was reportedly carried out by five men in the same forest.

According to the complaint, the suspects had stopped several vehicles and stolen millions of rupees from passengers.

Police registered a complaint following the latest incident. However, the complainant alleged that when the incident was reported through the emergency helpline, Chhanga Manga police prepared the application themselves and recorded the number of suspects as three instead of five.
