The unofficial results of the third phase of the Azad Kashmir local government election are pouring in, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

Polling in 3 districts of Mirpur Division – Mirpur, Bhimbar and Kotli – started at 8:00 am and culminated at 5 pm. The PTI is leading with 21 of 27 seats, PML-N got 3 seats, independent candidate won 2, and the PPP got one seat.

In Bhimbar, the PTI bagged eight seats, PML-N got two while one was won by an independent candidate. The names of the winners are Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood, Chaudhry Muhammad Fazil, Raja Faheem Akhtar, Chaudhry Zaheeruddin Babar, Chaudhry Abrarul Haque, Chaudhry Mohammad Naseer, Chaudhry Mohammad Shabbir, Raja Pervez Iqbal, Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood, Raja Khawar and Raja Farooq Iqbal.

According to the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 2188 polling stations were established in all three districts and 874 polling stations have been declared most sensitive. It added 803 polling stations sensitive and 511 polling stations have been declared normal as per the CEC of AJK, the polling is going smoothly and peacefully.

The Secretary of AJK Election Commission Ghazanfar Khan told the media that there is enough security force comprising on AJK Police to conduct the third phase of LG elections in Mirpur Division besides, FC and Ranger are at the backup to counter any possible untoward incident.
