PM Shehbaz says no one will be allowed to sabotage economic recovery

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that nobody would be allowed to spread anarchy in the country and sabotage the rapidly stabilizing national economy. 

Presiding over a high-level meeting on the security situation in the country, Sharif ordered measures for a stern action against those who clashed with the law enforcement agencies and ransacked and damaged public and private property in Islamabad a few days ago. He however told the authorities to make sure that no innocent person is arrested during action against those who spread anarchy in the country. He said that there should be a foolproof mechanism for identification of anarchists and solid evidence should be collected against them. He said the taskforce set up to take action against the anarchists should be provided all the required resources. 

He directed the authorities to bring the federal prosecution service under the Law Ministry. He said that construction work on the Islamabad jail should be completed as soon as possible and funds for this purposes should be released immediately. 

On this occasion, the meeting participants were given a briefing about the law and order situation in Islamabad. The meeting was informed that scope of the Islamabad Safe City was being expanded and the number of safe city cameras was being increased in the federal capital. They were also informed that construction work on the Islamabad jail will be completed by March next year. 

Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, State Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal and senior bureaucrats attended the meeting.
