PMDC launches country's first digital inspection system for medical, dental colleges

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has formally launched a digital inspection system for the institutions to digitise the accreditation and quality assurance process for medical and dental education across the country, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday. 

According to PMDC, the pilot project is designed to integrate digital technologies into inspection procedures, improve transparency, and build a reliable national pool of highly trained inspectors.

The training features hands-on demonstrations of Pakistan’s first digital inspection platform, “Digi-Inspect”, as well as orientation on the updated inspector guidelines.

Master trainers and inspectors from all provinces,  Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and the Armed Forces, are participating, ensuring broad national representation.

A total of 60 participants have been enrolled in the programme.

The three-day programme is part of PMDC’s first National Inspector Pilot Training aimed at standardising digital inspections and improving regulatory performance.

 On the first day, participants attended thematic discussions, system briefings and practical orientation sessions on updated digital formats, including Proforma 200 and Proforma 350.

On the second day, these teams will conduct field-based digital practice inspections at ten medical and dental colleges across the country. 

The third and final day will focus on reviewing inspection results, harmonising scoring standards and compiling comprehensive feedback to improve digital tools and procedures. 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr Taj said the training marks a “significant advancement toward strengthening inspection standards and promoting digital transformation in the national accreditation process.”
