President confers Nishan-e-Pakistan on Indonesian counterpart
President Asif Ai Zardari conferred the highest civil award “Nishan-e-Pakistan” on President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto at a special award investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad tonight.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Navel Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Federal Ministers, parliamentarians, foreign diplomats and other high-level authorities attended the ceremony.
Earlier, Pakistan, Indonesia agreed to enhance cooperation for peace, stability and prosperity. President of Pakistan expresses deep sorrow and grief over Sumatra floods and landslides. He also prayed for the victims of Indonesia and for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Both sides reaffirm commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and tolerance. Pakistan, Indonesia decide to build future partnership on principles of inclusive development.
Pakistan and Indonesia agree to enhance cooperation in IT, agriculture, energy and tourism sectors.
Both sides agreed to strengthen defense cooperation, increase training and joint production. Pakistan, Indonesia announced joint efforts against Islamophobia.
