Islamabad High Court moves to take action against violent lawyers

The spokesperson for the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has said that a case has been registered against the lawyers who turned violent and damaged the public property during a protest on the premises of the IHC in the federal capital on Monday.
The IHC spokesperson said that a case has been registered against 21 lawyers and raids were being conducted for their arrest. The spokesperson said the court might initiate contempt proceedings against the lawyers involved in a violent protest on the premises of the IHC. The spokesperson said that some lawyers attacked the Chief Justice Block of the Islamabad High Court and damaged the court building and other office stuff.
The IHC spokesperson said that lawyers Tasaddaq Hanif, Shehla Shaan Abbasi, Hammad Umar Khayyam, Ahsan Majeed Gujjar, Khalid Mahmood, Shaista Tabassum, Yasir Khan, Naheed, Ashfeen, Raja Fakhar, Naseer Kiyani, Arbab Ayub Gujjar, Asadullah, Raja Zahid, Liaqat Manzoor, Naveed Malik, Khalid Taaj, Shoaib Chaudhry, Meraaj Tareen and Zafar Khokhar have been named in the FIR. The spokesperson says that a reference will be sent to the Islamabad Bar Council to have the licences of the lawyers involved in the violent protest cancelled.
