World Cup U19: Australia cruise to final after defeating Pakistan
Australia defeated Pakistan by 1 wicket in the semi-final of the U19 World Cup at Benoni, South Africa on Thursday, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.
Australia will now face India in the final on Sunday, February 11.
Chasing 180, Australia won the match on the first ball of the 50th over.
Pakistan once again showed their class in the bowling department but couldn’t cross the hurdle.
Ali Raza took 4 wickets, while Arafat Minhas added two.
For Australia, Harry Dixon (50) and Oliver Peake (49) were magnificent with the bat but it was Raf MacMillan’s 10 not out which took the team to the mega final.
Earlier, Pakistan were bowled out for 179, with Tom Straker taking 6 wickets.
Azan Awais (52) and Arafat Minhas (52) were the top scorers for the Green Shirts.
Earlier, India defeated South Africa in the semi-final. The match went to the wire, and the sub-continent team managed to outclass the host nation by 2 wickets.
