MQM-P appoints focal persons for federal development schemes worth Rs20b
Karachi and Hyderabad to receive major infrastructure upgrades
The inside details of a crucial meeting between MQM-Pakistan's provincial and national assembly members have emerged, revealing key decisions regarding federally funded development projects worth Rs 20 billion for Karachi and Hyderabad, reported 24NewsHd Tv channel Sunday.
The federal government has allocated Rs 15 billion for Karachi and Rs 5 billion for Hyderabad under various infrastructure schemes. To ensure smooth execution, MQM-P has appointed focal persons responsible for overseeing these projects and maintaining coordination with the Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company Limited (PIDCL).
According to the details, Aamir Moin has been designated as the focal person for Korangi district, while Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan has been appointed for the central district. Hassan Sabir will oversee projects in the eastern district, whereas Arshad Vohra has been given charge of the southern district.
Syed Amin-ul-Haq has been assigned the western district, while in Hyderabad, Professor Aleem-ur-Rehman Khanzada will serve as the focal person for development projects. These appointments are aimed at ensuring effective oversight and timely execution of the federally funded schemes.
All appointed focal persons will be in direct contact with the Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company Limited to facilitate project implementation. During the meeting, MQM-P's national and provincial assembly members officially handed over development schemes to the PIDCL delegation, marking a significant step toward urban infrastructure enhancement. The projects are expected to address long-standing civic issues in Karachi and Hyderabad, focusing on road repairs, drainage systems, and other essential urban improvements.
With these developments, MQM-P aims to deliver tangible progress in its stronghold cities, reinforcing its commitment to urban development in Sindh.
