PTI KP president Junaid Akbar failed to attract people at Swabi rally: PML-N

Claiming that despite spending the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government resources on its public gathering held in Swabi on Saturday, the PTI leadership failed to attract even 5,000 workers to its event, Punjab Minister for Information Azma Bukhari said on Sunday that now the people of KP, too, had rejected PTI founder Imran Khan’s brand of politics, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

In a statement, she said that the PTI’s provincial president Junaid Akbar had badly failed in his very first attempt.  

Azma also claimed that not a single party worker came out of his home on Saturday to register a protest against alleged rigging in the February 8 polls. “And even those who did take to the streets turned themselves into the police to show to Imran their commitment and loyalty towards him.” 

The minister was of the view that the people were now fed up with what she called the confrontational politics of the ‘gang of miscreants’ after it failed to overthrow the government on May 9 and November 26.   

“The youth in KP know fully well that youth in Punjab are getting electric bikes and receiving scholarships from the government, while they get nothing,” Azma said, adding, “Soon the Punjab government would announce scholarships for the students of KP.” 

The PML-N’s vision, she went on to say, was Pakistan’s development and economic prosperity. “Under the leadership of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan is again going to emerge as a strong country in the world.”
