Cold and dry weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country tonight and on Saturday, while hilly areas are likely to experience severe to extremely cold conditions, according to the latest weather forecast.

Dense to moderate fog is also expected to disrupt visibility in several plain areas, particularly in Punjab, Upper Sindh and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

For tonight, the Met Office has forecast cold and dry conditions in most regions, with severe cold in mountainous areas. Moderate to severe fog is likely to develop in the plains of Punjab, Upper Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the night and early morning hours.

In Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather is expected to remain cold and dry on Saturday. However, fog may form during the night and morning, potentially affecting visibility.

Punjab is also forecast to remain cold and dry across most districts, with severe cold expected in Murree, Galiyat and nearby areas. Moderate to severe fog is likely to affect several districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.

In Balochistan, cold and dry weather is expected in most districts, while northern areas may experience severe cold. Partly cloudy conditions are likely in southwestern districts during the evening and night.

Sindh will also see cold and dry weather in most areas, with moderate to severe fog expected in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Larkana, Tando Jam, Mohenjo Daro and surrounding localities.

In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, extremely cold and dry weather is expected to persist. However, fog may form at a few places in Kashmir during the morning hours.

Motorists have been advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility in fog-prone areas, particularly during early morning travel.
