PSB starts scrutiny of hockey clubs ahead of PHF elections

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), in collaboration with the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), has formally launched a nationwide scrutiny process of hockey clubs to ensure transparency in the upcoming PHF elections, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.

According to a PSB spokesperson, the scrutiny is being carried out under a mutually agreed and PSB-approved mechanism.

While the Pakistan Hockey Federation will implement the process, overall supervision and monitoring will remain with the Pakistan Sports Board.

The spokesperson stated that the scrutiny of hockey clubs has officially commenced within the jurisdiction of the PSB and is being conducted in a transparent, uniform, and rules-based manner.

All hockey clubs wishing to participate in the PHF electoral process—whether existing or newly formed—will be scrutinized strictly in accordance with the approved criteria, the spokesperson added.

For this purpose, a national scrutiny committee comprising representatives of both PSB and PHF has been constituted.

Club data is being collected through an online portal, and PSB has full oversight and audit access throughout the process.

The scrutiny will primarily be document-based, and where required, clubs will be given a one-time opportunity to rectify deficiencies.

Following this, lists of eligible clubs will be published.

The PSB spokesperson emphasized that any scrutiny or electoral activity conducted outside this jointly approved framework will not be recognized.
