Sindh CM meets top federal, provincial leaders to discuss economy, stability and PPP affairs

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Friday held a high-level meeting with Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Punjab Governor Saleem Haider, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Rathore, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.

The meeting was attended by senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders, including Raja Pervez Ashraf, Nayyar Bukhari, Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira, Rana Farooq and others. Provincial ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Jam Khan Shoro, Saeed Ghani and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab were also present.

Participants discussed the country’s economic situation, political and social conditions, the stability of the Pakistan People’s Party and other matters of mutual interest.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said the national economy was moving in a positive direction and its benefits would gradually appear in the form of poverty alleviation. He added that political stability would further strengthen the economy and that government policies were restoring public confidence in the state system.

He said that economic and social development, along with political stability, was essential for overall national progress. He also said strong coordination between the federation and the provinces was promoting national unity.

Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Rathore stressed that cooperation between the federal government and the provinces was vital for the development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the positive effects of national stability and economic improvement were being felt in the region.

Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani discussed various legislative matters and said strengthening the democratic process through parliament was the need of the hour.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti highlighted the need for joint measures to improve the law-and-order situation along the borders of Sindh and Balochistan. He said effective coordination between the law enforcement agencies of both provinces had helped achieve better control over crime.

Discussions were also held on strengthening the Pakistan People’s Party’s organisation and enhancing its political activities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
