The Mithu Shah Gang ringleader was killed in a joint operation, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.

Majid, alias Mithu, was involved in the killing of six Balochistan police officers, the SSP said, adding that he was wanted in 40 cases and the government announced a Rs3m reward for his arrest.

Following a tip-off, a joint operation of Jacobabad and Balochistan police was launched, the officer maintained.

Mithu was killed while his six accomplices fled, he said, adding that the lawmen have launched a hunt for the runaway gangsters.
