Sarwat Gilani criticizes Feroze Khan for promoting toxicity through drama serials
Pakistani celebrity Sarwat Gilani has called out Feroze Khan for promoting toxicity through his numerous characters in drama serials.
Sarwat appeared on the Let’s Be Real show, where she shared her strong views about different characters in Pakistani dramas. She specifically mentioned Feroze Khan and bashed him for his aggressive and problematic roles that he has been playing in almost every drama serial.
According to Sarwat, such portrayals leave negative impacts on people as they somehow assist in normalizing unhealthy behavior in society. She added: “In his dramas, mostly, he has been shown beating up the woman and treating her cruelly, the same woman later ends up falling in love with him. This toxic behaviour is glorified on national television.”
“Feroze Khan you’re encouraging toxicity on a national television, and then you have a problem with someone taking your story and presenting it on various platforms,” Sarwat remarked.
Sarwat also recalled the incident when Feroze Khan leaked the personal contact number of her and many other female actresses to raise voice against him amidst divorce controversy.
Her stance highlights the responsibility the actors, directors, and producers carry when sharing the content to a large and impressionable audience.
Feroze Khan has often been the center of debate for his intense, emotionally volatile, and abusive characters in Khaani and Ishqiya. Although he has been praised for his intense characters, some believe that his characters romanticize toxic masculinity and manipulation.
Sarwat Gilani is known for her bold personality. She never shies away from talking about sensitive issues and urges to bring change in the entertainment industry.
