On the petition filed by the Gas and Oil Pakistan Limited (GO), an oil marketing company, a constitutional bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued a notice to the federal government and ordered the company to go ahead with its work, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The high court also ordered that there should be no interference in the work of the company.

During the hearing, Asad Ishfaq Tola, counsel for the company, told the court that the FIA had registered an FIR against the company for allegedly evading tax of billions of rupees.

He further said that blocking NTN and UID without prior notice and without giving a proper hearing was a violation of the law. “The company’s business has come to a halt,” the lawyer said and prayed to the court to provide relief immediately.

The case’s next hearing is on July 20.

The case is also sub judice in the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC).
