A number of celebrities and personalities from showbiz, entertainment and television industry have expressed their shock and grief over the demise of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain.

Dr Amir Liaquat was a pioneer of taking the Ramzan shows to its new heights. The idea was later replicated massively with some alterations by all televisions.

Hussain was the radio broadcaster on FM101 and started his television career at PTV and later joined Geo TV as founding member in 2001 where he hosted religious program Aalim Online. In 2010, Hussain joined ARY Digital Network as managing director of ARY Qtv and as executive director of ARY Digital. He hosted religious program Aalim Aur Aalam there and then hosted Pehchan Ramazan in 2012 and in 2014 he hosted game show Inaam Ghar.

TV actor Faisal Qureshi and actress Armeena Khan have expressed their condolences on the sudden demise of Amir Liaquat.

Actor Armeena Khan said, "We plan as if we’re going to live forever but aglay lamhay ka pata nahi hota [but we don't know what's going to happen the next moment]. Life can be taken away in an instant. Shocking!"
