Dacoit shot dead in encounter with Bahawalnagar police

A dacoit was killed and another two seriously injured during a police encounter in Bahawalnagar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Police sources said that dacoits committed robbery in the jurisdiction of City B Division Police Station in Bahawalnagar. After receiving information, police chased the dacoits. 

After taking notice of the police party, dacoits started firing and escaped from the scene towards Haroonabad.

During a heavy exchange of gunfire, a dacoit was killed by the firing of his own colleagues and two were seriously wounded.

Later, police arrested two dacoits who received critical bullet wounds and shifted them to a local hospital.

District Police Officer (DPO) Kamran Asghar stated that all these dacoits were involved in various criminal cases in Bahawalnagar district.

He further said that all measures will be adopted to provide security to the people.
