Former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan’s brother shot dead in Swabi
In a shocking incident, Shakeel Khan, elder brother of former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, was shot dead by his neighbour in Swabi’s Ahmad Khan Kelay village, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Swabi Mohammad Azhar, Shakeel Khan had gone to his neighbour's house to mediate a dispute when he was suddenly attacked. A bullet fatally struck him, leading to his instant death.
The accused, who is reportedly a drug addict and suffering from psychological issues, fled the scene. The DPO assured that the culprit will be arrested soon.
A first information report (FIR) of his murder was registered in Kalu Khan Police Station on behalf of the deceased's brother Riaz Ahmad against accused Kamran.
His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held in his native village, Ahmad Khan, today.
Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman and people from all walks of life will also attend his funeral prayers.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur strongly condemned the tragic murder of Shakeel Khan.
In his condolence message, CM Gandapur prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. He expressed sympathy with the grieving family and vowed to ensure justice for the victim’s family.
Additionally, CM Gandapur and Chief Secretary held a telephonic conversation with former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, offering their deep condolences over his brother’s sudden demise.
